The ICO Healthy Smoothie Blender is a low cost way to quickly and easily make tasty smoothies.
The blender has a single control switch which gives you 2 different continuous speeds and a pulse mode.
As you can see in the video you get a range of accessories including a handy ‘to go’ bottle. This bottle allows you to add ingredients, blend them up, then swap the blades for a drinking top, there’s no need to pour it into another container if you’re heading out and about.
The included instructions are functional, but not fantastic, it’d would be great to include a few examples of what you can do to get started. Fortunately with the recent popularity of such gadgets you’ll find plenty of recipe suggestions online.
In use you just pop your ingredients into the jug/bottle. Keep in mind that this blends and doesn’t juice, so you will likely want to add some liquid (e.g. half a cup of water) to help with the blending process and to ensure you don’t end up with something too thick to easily drink. Using items such as strawberries helps add additional liquid, especially important if you want to use something dry like banana.
Use the first speed to break the ingredients down and the second, higher, speed to blend into the final smoothie.
The motor is fairly noisy, to be expected with this sort of device, but it’s not uncomfortably loud.
Cleaning is often the downfall of these devices, but in this case it’s really quick and easy as there is only ever a bottle and blade to clean, that’s it!
