The Jam Rewind is a little pocket powerhouse of a bluetooth speaker. Measuring just 13cm wide and 2.5 cm deep it manages to pack not one, not two, but FOUR speakers into it’s tiny frame.
Jam have styled the Rewind in a rather retro way, using the humble cassette tape for inspiration. As well as making the speakers look like the tape reel the packaging has been designed to look like the case cassettes came in and rather than throw it away it can be used as a travel case for the Rewind and a stand for your mobile/MP3 player.
Jam have made the Rewind a compact little speaker that’s easy to slip into a pocket or bag and as well as the case you get a (very short) USB cable for charging.
The controls are located on the top of the Rewind and are raised and the same colour as the middle of the speaker. This almost suggests that the Rewind is waterproof; it isn’t so whatever you do don’t drop it in the bath.
Rather than beeps, the Rewind uses vocal feedback as to what’s going on, for example ‘Maximum Volume’, with voice prompts available in English, French, German or Italian.
Sound quality is really good with a surprising amount of bass for something so tiny (often a failing of lower cost Bluetooth speakers). The Rewind has a good volume range and is easily able to fill a room without distorting the music. The front speakers are the main speakers and give nice clear vocals, the back speakers add the bass and provide a more rounded sound than usually found on tiny Bluetooth speakers.
The Jam Rewind is a really good little product that offers a fresh design take on the tiny speakers.
