The Aputure AL-H160 CRI95+ Amaran LED Video Light is a small, but very powerful, LED lighting rig that can be used for either photography or video.
It’s very simple to use, pop in some AA batteries, turn on, and you’ve got lots of light. You get a couple of filters, a tripod mount and a camera mount.
The tripod mount has a standard thread allowing you to use this with any existing tripods you have, and this comes in very useful when setting up a source of continues light, for example when shooting some video.
The camera mount is a flexible arm, one end attaches to the Amaran LED light, the other slides into your camera’s flash shoe mount. The arm is adjustable and allows the light to either face directly forward or bend backwards allowing you to bounce the light off a ceiling.
It’s easy to use, just turn on, get into position and then get on with taking photos or video, and it’s been very useful during the shooting of a recent video review in which fill light was required to light the product (see the video below).
Apparently you can link several of these together to create an even more powerful LED lighting rig, but having only one this aspect wasn’t tested.
Great little product for those who need to add extra light to there photo/video shoots.
