The August MR220 is a low cost Bluetooth receiver which has been design to give users a quick and easy way to stream music to cars and audio equipment.
Looking at the photos you expected the August MR220 to be larger than it actually is. In fact the August MR220 is very light and about the same height as a box of matches, although not as deep.
In the box you get the August MR220 receiver, a 3.5 to 3.5 aux cable, instructions and a power cable. Unfortunately the power cable used isn’t a standard USB to micro USB (the sort you use for mobiles, cameras, MP3 players etc), instead it uses a USB to round connector cable. This means you could be in trouble if you can’t find your cable, you can’t just grab another USB cable and charge it up.
In use the August MR220 worked brilliantly. It was very easy to pair with a mobile and to test it out it was set up in a Ford Fiesta, but could be used with anything that accepts input via a 3.5mm cable. Once the August MR220 is plugged in you just set your equipment to the required setting (in this case Aux) and hit play on your device. That’s it! Music starts playing out of your car/stereo from whatever device you’ve paired with the receiver.
The sound quality was very good quality, although the quality is obviously limited to whatever device you’re using this with, but in the car there were no issues and it sounded as good as playing a CD or using the DAB radio.
If you’re mobile is your primary music player, either via services such as Spotify or Deezer, or via MP3s on your phone, then this little receiver is a really quick, easy and low cost way to free your music.

I bought this bluetooth receiver and lost the power cable for this device and now realise how right you were when you said “you wouldn’t want to lose this”. I’ve really struggled to replace it. I’ve tried a PSP charger, too big. So ended up with a “onesize-fits-all” dc adapter. But my problem is I don’t have the manual that came with it and don’t know which way round the polarity is supposed to go. So could someone help me out with this one? It should either be Plus into Minus, or Minus into Plus.
Have you tried contacting them directly? Their website is: http://www.augustint.com/en/index.html
Yeah currently emailing them back forth, so I’ll let you know how it goes.
In the end August refered me through to Digital Daffodil who supplied the correct cable. All working now which is great. Just have to make sure I don’t lose this one!!
Great news! Good to see they sorted you out, lets hope future products will make use of USB power.
