The Zecti Aluminum Tripod Head gives you a lot of additional options if you’ve just got a basic tripod.
It feels really good quality when you take it out of the box, it has a reassuring weight. The tops section has a quick release plate with a standard thread so you can easily mount cameras, camcorders or mobile mounts (it can support up to 15 kg).
This plate slides back onto the main mount and gets locked securely in place via a simple screw system.
It has a bubble levelling system and ball system so you’ve got loads of adjustment options. This is especially handy if you’re using a basic tripod that don’t allow for much camera movement.
The main problem with the tripod head was it didn’t actually fit on existing tripod equipment, the thread in the bottom was too big. The supplier provided a conversion thread but this should really be included in the box.
Once the conversion thread was in place this fitted on mini tripods and larger tripods without any further problems. It’s been really good with a cheap second tripod I have, giving new options around camera positioning.
