The 1byone OUKQL 0420 Disco Speaker is an unusual combination of, and you can probably guess, a bluetooth speaker and disco lighting in a single unit giving you everything you need for a home party.
As well as the unit you also get a small remote, handy as the unit can be ceiling mounted so it gives you an easy method of control.
The speaker quality is OK when you consider the low price and that you get a great lighting system included. Note that there is a cooling fan which is rather loud, when there is no music it’s very noticeable, but is masked if you get some party tunes on the go.
There is a mic on board which listens to music and can trigger the lighting patterns in time. This is independant of the speaker so you could use this with a different set of speakers if you’re not keen on using the on board one.
1byone have done a great job with the lights, they’re very powerful and easily fill a room with patterns of light (see video below for an example) which can pulsate along in time with the music to create a nightclub atmosphere in your home.
If you’d rather not have the lighting going crazy in time with the music there are different modes and you can even pick from the available light colours if you want a specific mood.
The disco speaker can be mounted on the ceiling to throw the lighting down on to the floor, just keep in mind the power cable isn’t extra long and so you’ll likely need an extension cable
Considering the low price this is a really fun bit of kit, it’s just a pity the fan is so noisy, but if you’re having a party with music blasting out it shouldn’t be a problem.
