The CUH slow juicer is a nice looking, if rather bulky, juicer. It came pre-assembled aside from the hopper, which just needed adding on top.
As well as the main unit you get two collection jugs, one for the produced juice and one for the pulp. These sit under two out spouts, one which sticks out to the left, the other to the right.
Being a slow spin juicer means this was quieter than other fast spin juicers but it didn’t seem any slower in producing juice. The idea behind a slow juicer is that it crushes and presses food to extract the juice, and by doing so it operates at a lower speed reducing the amount of heat food is subjected to.
The hopper section is fairly small so you’ll need to prepare your ingredients by chopping them up (and deseeding), for example cutting an apple into quarters. This adds preparation time on to the time it takes to juice and means this isn’t as fast to use as juicers that allow whole fruit to be used.
Overall the CUH slow juicer does a decent job, you’ll see in the video below one apple gives you a quarter of a glass of juice. It’s quick and easy to make the juice and the collection hopper means you can make a big batch for a couple of people.
It’s quick to take apart and fairly easy to clean. You get a little cleaning brush, but this didn’t fit up the pulp hopper and so you need to be careful not to leave any pulp to dry and get stuck, best to wash this soon after use.
It certainly does the job, but be aware it’s a fairly large unit so you’ll need a decent amount of space for it.
If you’re interested in getting into juicing but don’t want to spend £100+ this is well worth considering.
