The Divoom Ditoo takes all the awesomeness of the Divoom Timebox and compresses it into an old school computer looking package.
The Ditoo certainly wins the ‘most unusual Bluetooth speaker design’ award, it might be a small little gadget but it’s eye-catching and stands out, it’s one to put on display and it immediately captures visitor attention.
One of the most impressive features of the Ditoo are the keys, not only are they mechanical switches they’re also back lit! They have a satisfying feel and sound to them when you press them, and you can press them, they’re not for show they actually work and can be used to control the Ditoo.
Around the side is the power button, USB charging point and a microSD card slot, meaning you can play your tunes without being connected to a mobile.
The playfulness of the Ditoo is enhanced by the inclusion of stickers (presumably meant for decorating the Ditoo). Although you’ll see the white unit in the video review it is available in a selection of colours.
You’ll need to download the free app to make the most of the speaker, once connected the app allows further customisation of the display screen, allowing you to download new animations or even make your own.
Without the app you can still use the speaker, but just the speaker element. It’s located on the top of the monitor and fires sound upwards so you don’t need to worry about placement.
Overall sound quality is OK, it’s fair to say there are better sounding speakers for less, Ditoo is purchased for the striking design rather than sound quality.
When not dancing around to your tunes the Ditoo can provide additional entertainment by way of inbuilt games such as Tetris, controlled via the mini keyboard and toggle switch.
Divoom has also packed in an alarm clock, timer, and, rather randomly, a noise meter!
