The Lumify USB Solar Fairy lights are available in with white LEDs or a range of coloured LEDs. There are also options on the number of LEDs included, on review is the 100 LED set but a 300 LED set is also available.
There is a good length of quality cable, feels like it’ll resist the elements and it can be wrapped around things such as trees or alternatively pinned to things such as cabins or sheds.
As well as the included solar charger there is also a rechargeable battery pack, recharged via USB (cable included). In theory you won’t need to charge this via USB, but if you’re having an especially dark season this option allows you to enjoy the LEDs for longer by topping up the power.
This battery pack also contains the controls, which consist of a press switch to pick the light mode (e.g. flashing or slowly changing), and a toggle switch to turn the lights off or put them in to one of two modes: full brightness or power saving mode. Power saving mode means the LEDs won’t shine as bright, but should last longer than on full power mode.
The LEDs don’t come on if the solar panel detects light, they’ll only come on when it’s dark. Two mounts are included for the solar panel, one for the ground and one for wall mounting if you need to get up high to catch some rays.
The Lumify USB Solar Fairy lights are a really easy to use pack that don’t take long to setup but do look great. During testing there has been a lot of bad weather (winds up to 80MPH, lots of rain lashing it down) and there hasn’t been any problems with the lights at all.
