The TECEVO S220 is an interesting take on the low cost bluetooth speaker as instead of being the usual cylindrical shape it’s more of a mini soundbar design.
Setup can be completed either via the traditional Bluetooth pairing screen or via NFC.
As with most Bluetooth speakers this features a built in microphone and an aux in socket, but unlike most low cost speakers the TECEVO S220 also features an micro SD card reader allowing it to play music directly from a memory card.
On the side is a control wheel which can be both rotated and pushed to control pairing, playback and volume.
Sound quality is just OK, nothing to get especially excited about. For something that is meant to be like a soundbar the lack of bass was disappointing and made music sound a little flat.
Volume wise there were no issues, with this easily filling a room and could perhaps be used with a TV that has poor quality speakers to provide a bit more omph.
While it looks great there are better sounding speakers available, including TECEVOs own S10 mini which has a more compact form and, thanks to a clever design, offers much better bass than the S220.
