If you read my review of the Fritz!Box 7530 you’ll know I think AVM make fantastic routers, always offering a rich feature set. I’ve had word the Berlin-based company will be heading to IFA 2019 to present new products for fast internet access, powerful wireless LAN and a Smart Home with the focus on Wi-Fi 6, broadband, Smart Home and 5G.
The Wi-Fi 6 standard enables higher data rates and better response times for many devices using wireless LAN. AVM is presenting three new products for this wireless turbo, two of them routers:FRITZ!Box 5550 and FRITZ!Box 5530 for fiber optics. The two models are suitable for all common fibre optic connections throughout Europe and wirelessly distribute gigabit speeds in the home network via Wi-Fi 6 and a 2.5 Gbit/s fast LAN port, perfect for those looking to take advantage of other high speed products for example Asustor NAS.
The new FRITZ Box 6660 Cable also has Wi-Fi 6 on board for fast DOCSIS 3.1 cable connections and is fully equipped for networking. If only Virgin Media in the UK would consider replacing the Superhub 3 with a Fritz!Box.
As if that wasn’t enough they’re also showcasing the FRITZ!Box 6850 5G, the world’s first all-in-one home network router for the new 5G mobile communications generation. With fast wireless LAN, gigabit LAN and a base station for telephony and Smart Home, it offers full convenience on future 5G and current LTE connections.
It’s not just routers on show, AVM, outside the UK, also have a great selection of Smart Home products and they’ll be presenting three new products at this year’s IFA: The smart FRITZ!DECT 500 LED bulb expands the Smart Home portfolio to include lighting control and offers white and color lighting for every situation. The LED bulb can be operated via the new FRITZ!App Smart Home, the FRITZ!Fon as well as via browser.
For all-in-one remote control of all Smart Home scenarios, AVM is presenting the new FRITZ!DECT 440 smart button at the IFA, which includes a display and a range of switch controls for FRITZ!DECT products.
Finally for those suffering WiFi dead spots you’ll want to check out the new generation of Mesh WiFi repeaters: the four FRITZ!Repeaters 3000, 2400, 1200 and 600 are all available for purchase in Germany.
If you’re visiting IFA 2019 be sure to check out all the new products which are on display at the two AVM stands in Hall 17 and the IFA Summer Garden (stand A10).
