Cryptex Round Lock USB Flash Drive Review

Cryptex are back with another steam punk styled USB drive, one that stands out from the usual bright coloured USB stick.

Shaped similar to an old pocketwatch, the Cryptex round lock drive comes in a nice box with some instructions that contain a combination code, so don’t misplace them!

On the front there are 4 rotating dials which must be placed into the correct position in order to remove the USB drive.  The combination for the review unit was easy to remember…and wouldn’t be that tricky to guess! Hopefully other units have slightly more random codes other than all the dials facing up. You need to get the dials aligned spot on otherwise the USB can’t be removed.

Cryptex Round Lock USB Drive

Once you release the drive you have a 16GB USB2 memory stick. This worked first time, without any issues, on a Windows 10 PC. 16GB is a decent size to carry around a lot of files if you need to.

The overall styling is what you’re buying with this drive, it looks like some sort of steam punk movie prop, it just also happens to have a USB drive built in!
