Gravatar Venus Mini Speaker Review

I recently reviewed the Gravastar Mars Pro, a really cool looking robot speaker that sounded as good as it looked.  For those wanting something a little more portable, the Mars Pro has a smaller sister, the Gravatar Speaker.

I’ve had my hands on the Gravatar Venus Bluetooth speaker for a while now, and I’ve been impressed with the overall performance of the device, especially since it was so compact and lightweight.

In the Box

Venus arrives in a compact box that has brilliant artwork around both the outside and inside of the packaging.  This would be a brilliant gift for a child as it looks so cool, I’d have loved to get this as a kid!

In the box is the Gravastar G2 Venus speaker, a USB charging cable and a user manual.  I was really impressed with the build quality; instead of cheap-feeling plastic it’s made from zinc alloy which gives it a premium look and feel.

Venus comes equipped with a built-in rechargeable lithium ion battery that gives her a whopping 10 hours of playtime, and you charge via the included USB cable.

Compact Design

Venus is a compact speaker that packs a lot of punch. It’s small enough to fit anywhere, including your pocket, or backpack. Its sleek design makes it look great wherever you decide to place it.

The little legs look like they should be able to move, but they don’t they’re fixed in place.  Around the speaker are LED lights that allow you to pick which colour you’d like them to show. You control the lighting effects by pressing the button on the speaker.

I’ve been sent the black version, there are other designs avaialble.

Sound Quality

Thanks to the Bluetooth connection, you can easily pair this with your mobile, tablet or computer to use with any music app. Whether you prefer Spotify, Pandora, Apple Music, Google Play Music, Amazon Prime Music, Deezer, Tidal, or another streaming service, you can enjoy high-quality audio through the speakers.

For the compact size this produces a really good.  I was impressed by the volume and clarity of the music. I didn’t notice any distortion or clipping during playback and for the small size it had a decent amount of bass.

The speaker had no problem playing songs at high volumes, it easily fills an average room but obviously lacks the power of the larger Mars Pro.

Gravastar Mars Pro vs Venus

As part of the same family, the Mars Pro and Venus share a common design, they’re instantly recognisable as being related.  

If you’re looking for a great sounding speaker that will stay in the home, the larger Mars Pro is your best bet.  If you want a more compact, travel friendly, device then the Venus is for you.

Can the Gravastar Mars Pro Speaker rival the Gravatar Venus Mini Speaker in terms of performance and features?

The highly anticipated gravastar mars pro has arrived with impressive performance and features. Many are eager to see if the new speaker can rival the popular gravastar venus mini in terms of audio quality and functionality. It’s shaping up to be an exciting showdown between the two speakers.

Is it Worth Buying the Speaker?

This speaker is definitely worth buying if you are looking for a portable speaker. It has great sound quality and looks really cool. You can easily pair multiple speakers together to give yourself a bigger sound system.

You can control the volume by pressing the buttons on the side of the speaker. There are six color options available which you can adjust by touching the LED lights on the front of the speaker.

There are no wires connecting the speaker to your phone or computer, so there is nothing to worry about.

However, you should keep in mind that this is a small speaker and therefore doesn’t have the power or quality of the larger Mars Pro. 

That being said, it’s a lot more compact and portable, with a lower price point, making this a hot contender if you are looking for an awesome portable speaker.
