The Inateck 4 port hub has help solve a problem I’ve had since building a new PC: Only one USB 3 port. Having recently come into possession of some USB 3 devices it became clear a single port was going to restrict the speed advantage the new standard offers.
If like me you’ve not only got USB 3 devices but have also ended up with a lot of USB devices, pen drives, external hard disks etc, then this little 4 port hub will be really useful for you. It’s a USB 3 hub (it’ll work with USB 2 devices) which requires no software installation and is designed for use on tablets/laptops. I’ve been using it with my desktop and it’s worked really well. Easy setup, just plug it in, plug your devices in to the 4 port hub, and off you go.
I’ve even used it with an external HD caddy which it powered no problem (the excellent Inateck 2.5 HD Enclosure).
The https://your-pharmacies.com design allows for 3 USB devices to be plugged in at the top, and one at the end. The ports are well spaced to allow multiple items to be plugged in at once, but the overall size is small enough and light enough to pop in your pocket or laptop bag. Transfer speeds are good, but remember you'll need a USB 3.0 port to plug this into to get the most from your USB 3.0 devices, this doesn't convert an existing USB 2.0 port into a USB 3.0 port.
I did try the 4 port hub with my Android Transformer Prime tablet but it only recognized one device at a time, never all 4 at once. I suspect this is more a limitation of Android that the device.
Overall the 4 port hub is a great little gadget if you're on the go and want to have more than 1 USB device plugged into your laptop.
