JJRC H47 Foldable Drone Review

The JJRC H47 drone aims to stand out in the crowded low-cost drone market via a couple of interesting design choices.

The H47 arrives with everything contained in a nice case.  This is handy for storage or for travel, but isn’t necessarily required for using the drone when out and about.

JJRC have made this a very compact drone which can have the propellers folded away to make this small enough to slip into your pocket or bag.

The second interesting choice is to do away with the traditional twin stick remote control, with the H47 instead having a remote that’s designed to use with a single hand.

As well as the drone and remote the review unit also came with a generous 2 spare batteries (so 3 in total) as well as replacement parts should you have a crash.

Be aware that due to the folding nature of the propellers there aren’t any safety rails around them, so you’ll want to be careful if flying near other people.

The manual explains how to get things up and running and it doesn’t take long to get this airborne and flying around.

Once in the air you physically move and rotate the remote to control the H47s movements, for example tip the remote forward and it moves forward.

This takes a bit of practice but is actually a very intuitive way to control the drone.  It does a good job of keeping itself level at the current altitude and it’s very responsive to the remotes commands.

There is a 720p camera on board and the footage is OK.  You can manually move the camera up or down a little, however as this is a low-cost drone there isn’t any sort of stabilization system which means the footage can be rather jerky if you make fast movements.

The JJRC H47 is a good fun drone that offers something a little different to the large number of drones available, just be aware that the lack of guard rails around the propellers up the chance for damage to both the drone and people you may accidentally crash into.
