The Vinsic 20,000mAh Power Bank is one seriously chunky power bank, and it needs to be given the huge size of the battery.

The power bank comes with a cloth bag to store it in as well as a USB charging cable that is used to charge the power bank and can also be used to charge your mobile or tablet. Note this is a standard USB cable that’s used by Android/Windows mobiles, if you’re an Apple iUser you’ll need to provide your own charging cable.

There is a little readout to show how much charge is left in the power bank, you’ll get a good number of charges out of this (how many will depend on your mobile/tablet battery size).  In the review video below you’ll see a HTC M9 was topped up from 27% to 34% after a 10 minute charge.

VINSIC 20000mAh Smart Identification

Due to the enormous size of the battery this takes a loooong time to charge up, you’ll need to leave this charge at least over night, if not for most of a day as well if charging from close to empty.

The glossy case is something of a fingerprint magnet and it’s very heavy compared to other power banks I’ve tried, but it also provide a huge amount of power to charge your devices so is perfect for those worried about being away from a plug socket for a few days.

I recently bought a similar model: Vinsic VSPB303. The main difference is that one of the USB ports is QC3.0, and there is a USB Type C connector.
Thing is, it charges my Huawei P9 Plus only twice, after which the bank indicator shows 8% charge left. Per online specs, the P9+ has a 3400mAh battery. Assuming a very bad charge efficiency of 70%, math shows that the battery capacity is near 1000mAh, and not 20000mAh.
I therefore want to take a look under the hood to check out the battery. However, I can’t get it open without using dangerous force.
Is there a teardown of this power bank somewhere? I can’t seem to find a teardown other than for the Slim, which is very different.
