The GMYLE (Gadgets Make Your Life Easier) backlit keyboard is a good looking bit of kit with a metal finish for a premium feel.
Note that this is a US layout keyboard rather than UK layout, even when purchasing from Amazon.co.uk.
Setup was very easy, there is an on/off switch on the back, turn it on, pop into pairing mode by pressing ‘Fn’ + ‘C’ and then search for the keyboard in the Bluetooth section on your device.
Once paired the keyboard will automatically reconnect to your device next time you come to use it.
With the premium look to it the GMYLE keyboard doesn’t look out of place with tablets such as the iPad, and it gives you the full screen to work with as you no longer need an on screen keyboard.
As the name suggests, the GMYLE backlit keyboard…is backlit! There are a number of colours to choose from and the lighting is subtle but does the job in low light situations. You can have the backlit off, on a low level, or on a higher brightness level.
To keep this compact there isn’t a number pad, but the numbers do run along the top along with various function keys/media keys such as play/pause.
This is charged via USB and a cable is included, it’s the standard type you’ve probably already got with your mobile.
If you stop using the keyboard then after around 10 minutes it’ll automatically power down to save on battery. Press a key and after a few seconds it’ll power back up and reconnect, as you can see in the review video below.
A great looking little keyboard for a very reasonable price, it’s just a pity that for those of us in the UK it has a US keyboard layout.
